I Come with the Rain, 2009
I know that Anh Hung Tran’s “I Come with the Rain” is a bit divisive, but I liked it. It’s messy, gruesome, seems unfinished or rather … unfocused at times, but it’s an interesting movie. Neo-noir meets serial killer/detective meets christianity allegory. I have a feeling on the second watch I’ll give it four stars.

Techno-cattle for techno-overlords
It really scares me that the big software companies are requiring people to work lots of overtime while at the same time increasing their at-work benefits (free food, game rooms, etc). Pretty soon work and free time are going to merge into the same thing: eating pizza and staring at screens, occasionally checking Facebook and Twitter to hashtag trendy socio-political issues. We are slowly being turned into cattle for the techno-overlords and nobody seems to care.

So that’s what I did. I stayed alive. I kept breathing. And one day my logic was proven all wrong because the tide came in, and gave me a sail. And now, here I am. I’m back.
Peer dislike
I cannot stand my middle class peers anymore. The attention to clothing, the carefully-curated Instagram feed, the endless small trips made with the sole purpose of picture-posting, the furniture in their homes, the things they say, their tastes, their pathetic feeling of superiority over the poor masses. I can’t stand it anymore.
Protonmail users public PGP keys
If you’re hoping Protonmail exposes the PGP public keys of their users on some keyserver, you’re wrong. So, unless the recipient attached its public key, or has it published somewhere, tough luck.
But you can request it from their API service:

Or open https://api.protonmail.ch/pks/lookup?op=get&search=barrack.ossama.binladen@protonmail.com in your favorite browser. Remember to replace the email address with the actual address of the person you want his or hers PGP public key. The funny thing is there is someone with that email address (barrack.ossama.binladen@protonmail.com). Heh.

Maybe people should realize by now that while LLMs are useful as application-specific tools, they’re not thinking machines, they aren’t AI in the conventional sense, that the technology does not lead anywhere to thinking machines, and that “LLMs are AI” is just a giant scam to defraud investors (which they deserve).
