Flawlessly acted (Charles Aznavour, Marie Dubois, Nicole Berger) and directed (Francois Truffaut), I don’t think he ever did another film as fun and whimsical as this one, and it’s probably his most Hitchcockian film.
I’d rather have pretty underwear than those exciting skirts some of the girls wear.
